Hello:
The SmartLists in Cross had a great improvement in 2.6, however the lack of operators such as "OR" limit at least in half the functionality of this great feature.
How come there is not "OR" operator in smartlists?

Hi, did you try clicking on 'All' in match All criteria (or some like that: it changes into Any... which acts like the OR function (without nesting options)

Hello,
I haven't noticed that button until you mentioned it, thanks for the heads up!.
Unfortunately, changing to ANY gets even worse organization because then there's no way to control a specific genre with different comments for instance.
What we need is operators such as "AND", "OR", "GREATER THAN" and "LESS THAN" individually or in each line of conditions, something like "IN THE RANGE" when using dates.
This will double the power of smart lists for sure.
Speaking of smart lists, I've experienced two crashes (in different days) when trying to edit a smart list on the fly playing a gig.

+1 for this.
My collection is a mass of different Genres.
It would be nice to have the option to show:
Hardcore OR Gabber OR Drum & Bass

This is already available from the beginning; use multiple lines with genre:
Match ANY (if ALL visible just click on it)
genre= ....
genre= ....
genre = ...

That ONLY works when there is not another condition, for instance you can't have Genre=Club or Genre=House + Comments=OK or Producer=XX because any song that doesn't have XX in Producer or OK in Comments won't be listed despite it meets the other conditions.
Worst yet, if you set this on "Match ANY" any song with OK in Comments doesn't matter if its Genre is not Club or House or if its Producer is John Doe, will be listed anyway and that's exactly what we do not want.
So what we need is operators such as "AND", "OR", "GREATER THAN" and "LESS THAN" individually or in each line of conditions and not globally as is it right now.

I understand your issue. This is called nesting (as mentioned in a previous reply). Creating proper criteria however is something that is not that easy. Let alone creating an interface for this.
I would prefer simple, easy to check filtering. The nesting you ask for can with some work be achieved by working from a playlist, which you occasionally refill from some smartlists. For the different criteria(-combinations) you can create a smartlist folder, within which you create the none-nested criteria.
It is not the same, but at least your criteria can easily be read back, even after months/years.
And remember that the final 'AND' is always default filter option.
