Hi! Is anyone has a problem with the sound quality when using CDJs in HID mode with Cross 2.6? I have no problem with the audio config, I am using external mixer cue in the settings, from both cdjs I can hear the sound on the djm900 nexus. Even if I use the direct sound or the asio, the sound is lumpy. Also I tried to use the mixer as a sound card, I got the same result. I've changed the buffer size, but even if its set to maximum there is no better quality(of course close to the minimum is getting worst). I am using a dell corei5 notebook, win7. By the way the functionality of Cross is amazing:))))

I use a DB4 for my sound output, and have never had an issue with output sound quality. Could double check the speed of your USB hub (if using one) or disconnect all but 1 CDJ and see if the sound improves. I have heard of issues with CDJ soundcards having poor quality sound when aggregated due to bad/slow USB connections, but can't point you to that source.
Also, do your CDJ's have the latest firmware/drivers?

FYI, HID has nothing to see with audio quality.
I mean, to be a nit more precise, you're not having sound issue in HID mode, you're having sound issues in using the CDJs via the Pioneer ASIO driver (whatever you're using HID, MIDI or nothing).
Could you explain a bit more what you call a "lumpy" sound?

THX for all your reply and questions. Good idea is to check the USB HUB, I'm using one. I will try the direct connection with one CDJ.
I understand there is nothing common between HID and the ASIO driver.
I have the latest firmware 1.20 for CDJ, and the latest driver for windows 1.200.
Sorry for my english, I'm trying to explain the bad quality: The sound is couninouisly braking, shaking, the volume goes up to the sky for 0,1 sec, so there are a lots of digital glitch. It is something like when you set the buffer size for a low value.

Hey,
check also your usb cables. I have also two of the CDJ 2000 Nexus models and run them first with some cheaper USB cables and I had sometimes also some Sound Problems. After changing the cables to some high Quality with better shielding I had no issues anymore. Also disable the power saving mode for the USB ports and check if you are running on all the right Firmware.
CDJ 2000 Nexus Version FW: 1.2 (3. September)
DJM 900 Nexus Version FW: 1.3 (29. Oktober)
Are the CDJ/DJM all connected with Pro DJ link? And is the CDJ with the DJM connected with Digital or analog cables?
regards
Christian
