Cross 2.5 setup - output not registering.

Setting up 2.5 for the first time. I am trying to configure external mixer mode. In the preferences tab, it isn't picking up the output of the U46 MK2. I have outputs 1 & 2 wired into input line 1 & 2 of my mixer, with 3 & 4 going to 3 & 4 of the mixer. The output 1 & 2 boxes on the Cross preference menu however only list 'not connected' and 'none'. The input boxes have all registered fine and its picking up the timecode in the cdjs, just not picking up the mixer.
I'm using a:
Lenovo Ideapad laptop
Intel core i5 processor @ 2.6ghz
Windows 8
Cross 2.5
U46 Mk2
Any suggestions??
