is it possible, maybe using new.danlin.de/projects/Cross-clock/ project to send a clock signal? the basic idea comes from:

Thanks It was worth a try. the couple of things i've seen lock in the BPM so sets that move across genres would be out of the question. Guess that means it's another chance to be a Pioneer. Or I can work with my mate on the finer aspects of beatmatching and not need to sync anything

A side question, has anyone tried running Cross in standard DVS and using a MIDI controller like the Numark IDJ3 for the 2 transports? If so what are you thoughts?

Currently it could only be supported if you had a really accurate mapping that went through a translator program, like Bomes or Max/MSP, where the clock output that was from Nillin's clock he created and the tempo of the controlled decks was somehow synchronized through quantization of commands and tempo matching through the translator.

In short, not currently

I do multi-genre all the time, between myself and others on different systems. That's where your ears and your skills come in to play, not software. Not that software couldn't, but even those that claim you can sync two copies or two different laptops still have pitfalls and inaccuracy's the the syncing mechanisms.

Hi!

I was pretty sure I had posted a reply once i saw your post...

The answer is no, because Cross doesn't accept any external clock (being another Cross or not).

Thanks sly that's what I was thinking but it's nice to get the official answer.

as for the second question I would like to set things up as follows

decks A/B standard DVS setup

decks C/D MIDI controller (testing with Numark IDJ3)

this way someone can control the second transports without touching the laptop
