I have had the same issue, multiple times, but haven't reported it yet, cause I haven't found the common multiple. If you leave it beach balling for around 1-2 minutes, it will eventually correct itself and not give you any more trouble. At least, that's how mine has been.
The first few times it happened, I resorted to my iPad running crossDJ, and restarted a bunch of times. Then I tried the previous version, and it beach balled on me again, so I went back to 2.4 and just let it do it's thing. Mind you, this is all during a live set. No audio playback is interrupted, but the interface is frozen and no waveforms or feedback of any kind.
It usually happens when I load the first track or second I'm playing, but it doesn't always happen, and it happens on all different kind of tracks. All the tracks are analyzed before loading. I would have reported it a while ago, but I couldn't find a particular cause, so I was waiting to see if one surfaced.

Internal or external drive ? Did you import tracks into the db during the same session ? (if the db is still writing covers it could be the issue).

I have been regularly experiencing a similar problem. While playing, a distorted buzz will come on over the music and the deck will become unresponsive. It seems to be the program, i quit and restart and the program works again...for a while. It's unpredictable. I have am using Cross 2.4 on a new macbook, with american audio MIDI mixer. Help.

NEW PROBLEM- Using Cross 2.6.0, new macbook and American Audio VMS2 MIDI controller/mixer. I was djing a job last night when a completely new problem occurred. I had a track is playing in player A, when i drag and dropped a song onto player B, player A STOPS and the new song loads into BOTH players, and music stops. Then it acts normal a couple times, then the same thing would happen. It happened with both players A & B. I quit Cross, I restarted computer, nothing fixed it. I ended up switching to the clubs mixer and playing between iPod and computer. Today I am trying to figure out problem before I play a party tonite, and the problem seems gone! for now…but i don't trust that it won't happen again... agghhh!! help?
