Hi y all ?
Just wondering if there is anyway or if anyone else would like a feature where it is possible to turn the knobs of the mixvibes mixer filter without automatically turning it on (along with the red light). I would like that. I would like to manually turn it on or off (which is already possible) but with no automatic switch when I turn the knob (repeating myself now).

Just curious as to why you would want to turn the filter knob if it's not switched on?

kinda understand the desired effect ,,to have it act like the bass kill switch,,be able to preset it at desired postion and toggle it on and off

Actually the main reason is that I often use it like this: i turn the knob so it activates it and progress with it, then i turn it off manually so its precise and direct, i think many djs do that. But then the knob is still in a position other than neutral after the filter is switched off. I would like to be able to set it back to neutral, normal, "0" position (whichever you wanna call it) before I use it again WITHOUT SWITCHING IT ON in the process.
Am i missing something, or is everybody doing it a whole different way that never caused any trouble ?

I guess we should add an option to please everyone...
(but we hate adding options, that's hardly ever a good solution )

I get what you mean, I think. Turning it off quickly means trying to hit that mid point on the knob, but get it wrong and the filter is in that negative area, cutting the treble. Often that isn't the sound you're after.

Exactly.
I used to DJ without filters, but the DJs that I see live usually use them A LOT (too much imo), and when I see them do it, it looks like they're doing this way too...It make sense to me. Doing it the other way would make me feel insecure

Actually, I just want it to work the way a mixer would work you know...If clubs had A&H Xone 92with automatic on/off filters, I would simply adapt. I like to use software to replace expensive hardware, not for a lot more than that.

This is why I rely on Korg Kaoss Quads for my filtering needs, the precision of the X/Y pad is super tight.

I realised that I was talking from my own point of view; seeing as Cross handles the gain by itself, I've remapped that knob on my UMCP2 to the filter. It doesn't have a mid-point or kill switch. I guess if you remapped it to another MIDI controller with those things you could get what you were after.
