Hiya all. I have been wanting to get into DJing for ages and my misses decided to buy me a ion Discover DJ controller for mt Bday to let me have a go at it lol. I did try to post in to say hello section of the forum but it wont let me?
Anyways i was wondering if i am being held back at all by using the standard software you get with the Discover? Will any of the other Mixvibes software work with the controller? The reason i ask this is i really like hiphop and scratching but i find that the crossfader on this controller is to soft if thats the right word to use. Does any of the other mixvibes software allow you to adjust the crossfader at all??
Cheers for any help
Chris

Both Cross and CrossDJ have the option to adjust the crossfader curve.

The Ion discover have native support in Cross and CrossDJ

Upgrade to CrossDJ

Or upgrade to Cross for a special discount price

http://www.mixvibes.com/content/product ... de-cross-0

CrossDJ is the same as Cross but with no Timecode or HID support

Ok here goes. I am using 1.3.2(came with the controller on disc). I cant see anywhere in the software where you can play with curves and stuff though.
I am only planning bedroom DJing.
I am currently running the following.

ntel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz
ASUS P8Z77-V Intel Z77 Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard
Creative X-FI eXTREME Music sound card
8 gig of DDR3 ram
120 Gig SSD
gtx570 Graphics Card
1TB HDD
500Gig HDD
Logitech X540 Speakers
Creative Fatal1ty headset
Plus more lol

  the up grade to Cross is the software you will like ,,,
the 1.32 ver doesnt have the Cross fader curve selection,,i suggest Cross if you ever want to start using time code control for more persice scratching ,Cross DJ if you think you will only stay with the controller   the ion ddj is a little weak when it comes to scratching ,, but will sufice for bedroom djaying
you have more than enuff computer ,,check too see if the processor is of the sandy bridge type ,,had diffulicties with certain setup due to usb issues,,the only lacking is your sc ,,,but if its a multi channel sc and you are using it for both monitoring and the master it will work

yeah its a ivy bridge processor and the soundcard does 8 channels so thats not a problem.
The thing with this controller is i rememeber years ago playing with my mates Numark decks and mixer and i found it far easier to get a nice clean scratch..I dunno maybe i am expecting to much out of this controller?

 apples and oranges ,,analog verses MIDI signal to control the Cross fader,,have heard of good results using MIDI controller and jog wheels in use for scratching ,,quiet a few do and have experience to share ,, not to shure with the outcome of the ddj jogs  :!: the upgrade price will get you a un limited version of the software and free updates ,,already on version 2.31 with a rc ver being worked thru now,, ..suggest you download the free version and try it out to see if you will like the added features ,

ok i tried the free one but i cant use my discover with it so its hard to know whether i can adjust the Cross fader to how i want it?? at the moment using the Cross software i had with it it feels soft. I want the Cross fader to have a steeper curve..
