Calibration problem with Cross 2.x

Hello,

I've got the Cross Pack (2 SL1210, U46MK2, ASUSN73S [Intel Core i7 - 2630QM + 4 GB RAM]) that I'm used to calibrate before every use. Unfortunately, since the first Cross 2 version, there is a shrill noise at soon as the timecode begin to be played.

However, when I go back to a older version (1.6 i.e.) and I restart the calibration, everything is working perfectly. Furthermore, if I close Cross 1.6 and go back to Cross 2.x (2.3.1. for the moment), shrill noise has disappeared and everything seems to work fine until the next time I close/restart Cross software.

Do you have any idea where it could come from?
Thanks in advance for your response

Mute the input monitoring on the soundcard panel.

Thank you for your quick response but it was already done (0 DB on both inputs).Problem still remains. Seems like the calibration process of Cross 2.x are quite different from previous version (where you have to set yourself the input and the output).
Quite weird, isn't it! Is there anything else I could check?

use this driver: http://download.esi-audio.de/?w=esi&p=26&g=2&l=de

uninstall the old driver before installation, on the panel it says "monitor" those are too mute. 0dB is not muted, 0dB means no amplification, i.e. input = output and the tc-sifǵnal will be routed to the output (what you refer to as shrill noise)

Thanks a lot, problem solved.
However, how do you explain that I have to do this set up which was not necessary before?

Changes into the asio handling I guess.

That's very strange! We tested it again (installed the driver provided with the Cross Pack and ran the last update afterwards) and we did not need the ESI panel, Cross automatically muted input monitoring...
