No Sound from Recorded Mix

Hello All/ PapaDJ here,

I'm using CrossDJ 2.3.1 on my MacBook Pro, with the American Audio VMS 4.1 MIDI Controller.

Mixing is great, no problems, sound is great, but when I go to playback my recordered set, there is no sound. I see the WAV. file, it has recorded, but will not playback with iTunes? All works okay with Traktor, but I would like to use CrossDJ with my VMS controller.

Attached is a screen grab of my audio set up in Cross.

Thanks for any help ofered.

PapaDJ

Hi Daniel,

To answer your questions-
Yes the WAV. file does have a large # of mega bites connected with it.

I tried playing it in CrossDJ- it loads but doesn't play anything.

I think you are right about the External Mode, but I don't know how to set up with Internal Mode. Traktor gives you the option to record "internally" or "externally" I don't see that option with Cross.

Many thanks!
Best-David

 why are you using external mode when all you have is the MIDI controller :?: :?: are you using t c vinal or cd, for track control :?: :?:
  lacking a little bit of info as to your set up and how you are routing your audio config
scroll downand up the routing mode to determine if one of the internal mixing modes will fit your need :?:
you also have a choice as to what sector you want to rec ,,look in the recording tab

just shooting off in the dark as to what you have going on due to lack of info

Hello Daniel,

Thanks for the suggestions. DUAL STEREO Does record the mix, BUT headphone cue does not work, NO preview of track not playing. Tried ALL the cue and mix knobs, but no change.

I've read the manual, but that doesn't supply the answers to Headphone
Cue problems.

Want to play some tunes, but need a fix for the preview situation.

Don't think I am "demanding" anything from Tech Support, but this should be made easier to get up and running. " Press this button, try that button" is very frustrating.

I have a MAC running OX 10.8- with a American Audio, VMS 4.1 MIDI controller. Tell me exactly how to set it up so I can mix music ,and record my mixes and use my headphones properly. I don't think that's
being demanding, sorry guys. Does anyone Know That Set Up without the guess work??

Peace-
David

To my understanding (after he posted in the other thread), the audio routing on the controler side is also different than the one on the VMS4.

These guys at American Audio did something that don't have too much in common with a previous product but gave him the same name.1

Yeah smart move !!!

On a side note the VMS4.1 IS NOT into the supported controler list.
