Hello:

I just came from using windows xp to buying a new laptop with windows 8, I7 Intel, with 8 gb of ram, and discrete graphics card.
I would like to ask if there is any tweaks to the computer that I can use to better my latency....there is scratchy audio and the best I can get is 12ms latency using an Audio 2 DJ soundcard.

With my old computer (P4 and XP) I never had any problems, Im disappointed right now! Thanks for all the help!

Looking at your computer specs, you've got more than enough power to run the software, and your sound card is a great choice.

You say that your PC has a discrete graphics card - does it also have a low power one? ie. Intel?

Sometimes, you have to tell the PC which graphics card you want to use with each program - I know that Cross uses the more powerful one on my computer, and I had to set that up through the graphics options.

Not 100% certain, but if the program is using the low power graphics card, it's going to put a strain on the whole system, including the sound... ;)

Thanks KevMaverick for your reply...I went on another website and performed most of the tweaks that were suggested...turns out that the latest driver for the soundcard got my sound running perfect and down to .7ms...nice! As far as the video, I do have the intel graphics card onboard..Im getting ready to install the video plug in shortly and sure I will have questions then LOL!

Glad you solved the problem. :D

Dual graphics are good, but sometimes things don't quite work...

If absolutely necessary, it's usually possible to force the computer to just use the high-powered graphics card all the time - most likely through the computer's BIOS. ;)

Agree with Kev. I think that the main reason for the on board video card is for using laptop more hours with battery.
