Hercules DJ Trim 4/6 - desperately trying to get it working

Hi all,

as I have bought a new mixer (Vestax PCV-275) I wanted to exchange the U-Mix Control Pro (no need for mixer function anymore) with my Hercules DJ Trim 4/6 which offers a bit better latency. So I have removed the U-Mix Control Pro's drivers, deleted all folders and cleaned the registry with ccleaner and manually.
So far so good, time to install the Trim. I have tried the latest installer after a reboot. Plugged in the Trim, driver has been installed correctly and successfully. Opened Cross, changed audio settings to Trim. All seemed okay instead the missing timecode signal. No matter which configuration I was using, how often I have rebooted - when I have tried to calibrate it said there is no signal.
Afterwards I have tried various configurations and used Cross 1.7.1, 2.0.1 and the latest with three different drivers (no worries, completely uninstalled everything all the time). I could not get it running.
Desperately as I was I have tried to send sound through the device, just to see if this is working - it was not! Cross was playing on both decks, the Trim had no output - absolutely no output.
I have checked the win audio config, tried all we tell people when they come up with issues like this, but nothing. If you think this is not obvious: faders were up ;)
As a result I have reinstalled the U-Mix Control Pro - took me 2 minutes and all was working well.

Has anyone an idea of what is going on here? After the audio interface is "booting" there is something visible in the VU meter, so the device is able to send sound, but neither Cross nor any other software in Win is and was. Desperately looking for a solution and happy for any hint.

Thanks,
Steve

It's a shame I haven't got mine set up, mate

Have you got the inputs turned up on the front of the interface.

Can you do a screen shot of the Hercules Control Panel, your Cross audio setup and the timecode tab

Yes, first action I did after there was no signal.

I can provide those if needed urgently, but I have to reinstall everything again. Do you know what you are looking for?

Sometimes when I've installed the latest Hercules Driver Package I've noticed the input channels were muted if I remember rightly.

Are you running on mains power?

Are the little input switches of the back of the interface switched to Phono.

Just going through the basics mate ;)

- 2012_HDJS_6 is the name of the package I have just taken from their website.
- installed drivers and wait for it to ask to connect the device
- switch it on then click next
- go to the control panel : uncheck reduce volume
- force audio mode to ASIO

Vinyls : using integrated phono preamp, crank input to 1st orange led (nominal input level).
From there you decide between line or phono and set the software preamp accorded to this.

You can try on another computer that has never seen this soundcard to be sure. I remember in the past I have issue with FW18/12 that couldn't be uninstalled cleanly, I was forced to edit windows register by hand.

EDIT : if you have any USB device connected to the soundcard HUB, remove it.

I'm about to give it a go.

If you right j-kut, I'll break your legs! :D *just kidding* It was just stored for a year or so ... that would be worst case

EDIT: Okay, did what you have said, Support, after having cleaned the registry automatically and manually. Result: still nothing. I did a screenshot (don't worry, does not work with 2.3 as well).
