Audio Gaps with U-Mix Control Pro 2 - What to do?

Hey,

I bought the U-Mix Control Pro 2 and i experienced audio-gap problems. The buffer is in the beginning at 5.3 ms, and the higher i adjust it, the less the gabs appear. CPU-usage is NEVER at 100% while playing.
When loading and analyzing a track, the gaps still appear, even with a high buffer size and the CPU-usage rises (while loading) on 100%.

Why is that so? I used Spin!2+, Denon DN-MC6000 and the Vestax VCI 280 and never had those problems, everything worked fluently.

I use:

Lenovo ThinkPad SL-510
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual Core T4500 2.30 GHz

FURTHER MORE:

When using the Video Plug-In, the CPU is always at 100%. I would understand here that I need a more current CPU, but sound-only should work as it did, even better ( I thought ) with an Interface coming directly from MixVibes.

Could anyone help? I need it to get work til monday :/

Do you have the problems also when the video-plug-in is disabled?

For video your Thinkpad is totally under-spec´d, but for audio it should be fine.

Windows Optimisation is done I assume?

No, even if i deactivate the video plug-in, the gabs occure.

That's what I also thought, for audio it should work fine, as it does with other interfaces.

What exactly do you mean with Windows Optimisation? My windows works fine and fluently, I keap it clean and even recover it, when I have the feeling that something does not work as it should. Is there anything else I can do, concerning this specific problem?

yeah, there´s some stuff you can do.

-go into the advanced settings of windows

prefs.PNG

-There you change the processor-scheduling to "all programs"

-also it´s a good idea to set the pagefiling to a fixed value (usually people set 1.5xof your physical RAM, so if your having 4Gb Ram set it to 6Gb for Start and End Value)

-You should also disable the "Windows Search" Service and try if disabling "Aero" helps.

There are some detailed how-to´s in the Tuto-Section.

Thanks -jkut! Very intersting videos

As far as i know ASIO is a background task so the processor scheduling should set to "background tasks"

Sorry this advice was valid in Win98 times. Microsoft has improved the pagefile managment over the years. Today there is no need to change it anymore.

Best regards

I deactivated the ACPI Battery Service, pulled out the battery and also recovered to the delivery status :/

If a clean win 7 installation will help?
