Hello,
I'm wondering what exactly the Mode/Range button on the mixer does. From my observations this weekend, it seems to cycle through three or four modes within the Cross software. I remember seeing "hybrid", "speed", and "mt". I looked around through about 10 pages on the forum but couldn't find any specifics on what that button does or how it can be used. Any info would be appreciated!
Thanks.

Hey,
Yes when pressing this button you can switch between the modes like you wrote (hybrid, mt...) and when you press shift and this Button you can Set the Pitch Range (like 6%, 10%....).

Thanks, Christian.
So what do each of the individual modes do in terms of live mixing and performance with the controller? As in, what exactly does "speed" mode do? Does this affect the way the song plays? Does it affect the way songs crossfade or beatmatch? That's what I'm unclear on.
Also, since you mentioned setting the pitch range, if I were to set a range of 10 percent, how will that affect the music? Does this mean that even if I match the bpms of two songs, the pitch will remain either largely affected or minimally affected?
Apologies for all of the questions. I'm still pretty new to the controller and software, and so far I've been flying by the seat of pants...just jumping in and and experimenting with my mixing.
Thanks,
Ben

Hey,
Speed Mode is like when setting the pitch on a turntable or an CD player without master tempo function. Mt is master tempo so the song will be nearly like the original tone when speed up or slow down the track. On hybrid it is a mix of both. On the smaller pitch it is like master tempo and on higher its more like speed mode.
The pitch range ca be set because on different areas you have different accurate values. I run most of the time at 10 or 16% range so you can set the speed of a song 10% higher or lower. This is for my music the best setting.

Thank you for the explanation, Christian. That makes sense to me now. For most of my live mixes so far, I've had a pretty solid blend of EDM, pop, and hip-hop so my BPMs have ranged from about the 80s to 130s. Do you think MT would be the best setting given that type of music, or would hybrid be best? christiankoopmann wrote:Hey,

Hey,
You can run on both but when you want to mix a fluent mix I prefere the hybrid mode.
