Load player slowdown and Audio Cracks

All is good with my Pro 2 apart from 1 thing - occasionally, but not all of the time, when I click on the load player buttons I get a very small slow down and click in the sound.

I've obviously run through all of the latency stuff and didn't see a problem. I've done the optimisation. I have latency set to 3 seconds. Do I need to raise this?

One thing I've noticed, and I think this is the cause of the beat grid issue I raised last week. Whenever a track is loaded it is ALWAYS analysed again. Why? If its been analysed why is Cross doing it again?

I can imagine that Cross does not see the analysation files stored in your "home" folder (c:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MixVibes\Cross\Peak\)?! Do you start Cross with administrator privileges?

I would set the ASIO buffer to 512 (this should be found in the U-Mix Control Pro 2 control panel). This is a good average to test. All modern laptops should handle this.

If you don't get any audio glitches then try a lower figure, 512 > 256 for example.

Test and see if you have any audio problems ;)

I formatted my laptop just over a week ago - tracks still have Bpm values, but perhaps those other files are now missing so they're re-analysing? I backed up and re-imported my collection file you see.

Now, for the control panel for the pro, I'm going to sound dumb. Where is this? I have a two bar volume control for the input/output but as far as I could tell I couldn't see any other options. Where Gould I be looking, or have I missed part of the installation?

As a side note, two things. The glitches don't get recorded and secondly, the sound quality of the recordings from the pro is miles better than I ever got from my old mixer.

Thanks as always guys.

Yep, I have that, but from memory couldn't see where I'd change the Asio buffer?

I've just looked at the manual. I was being real stupid - reading the ms value and not the samples. So I understand now.

I've also just grabbed an 8GB RAM upgrade kit from Amazon thanks to some birthday vouchers. I hope this may help a little (although the CPU is probably more important).

I you have formated/deleted the folder peak, a new analyze is a normal behavior.
The BPM is stored into the file tag, not the peak.

Just look into the smartlist 'Not analyzed' and analyze them. This should prevent audio skipping at load.

Before last night it'd been a week since I'd had a practice and I think I've narrowed this down a little further.

It has nothing to do with the U-Mix Control Pro 2. I disconnected my laptop from everything and found that every time I loaded a track to a deck, whether it was analysed or not, Cross freezes for a few seconds.

I've shutdown all anti-virus software and my network adapter is disabled. I'm not sure when this started. I don't want to accuse Cross 2.1 but I don't remember this being the case before I got the pro 2, which was around the same time of the release.

Whilst I had my decks connected it was causing the audio to crack and slowdown. Really hoping someone has a simple solution.
