Beat is skipping! Support please

Hello guys,

i have got a big problem with my program. I'm mixing with 6 month old Macbook Pro 2,4 with 8 GB RAM. I use the program with my two Pioneer Players CDJ-800 & CDJ-400. when i'm going to play to songs the same time, after a short time one of the audio lines skips. directly the beat doesn't match to the other one.my firewall is off and no programs are running. i tried to find out the problem in the german support forum but all tips are not the solution for this problem. i also tried to play with different sample rates, or without audio cache but nothing helps.
i called Musicstore Cologne in Germany where i bought your product and they said that the problem could be that i use 2 different CD players. They have different rates in audio output (CDJ-400= 112 DB & CDJ-800=115) Could that be the problem. I have to use the program in the future for Club Events or Weddings so it has to work.

Please help! Thx F12

Answered in german forum. Asking me the Music Store's answer is complete bullshit and they do not know what they are talking about - sry! I have to puke when I read that!

well u might have to wait till monday at least for an answer then :(
Pretty sure Blackbrook has been here long enough to know when people are giving false information about problems they do not understand, or they do not have a clue about. I have used 2 different branded cdjs before with no problems (Pioneer & Numark). So I am also thinking the problem is something else
Sounds like your problem might have something to do with the input volume of the cdj being to loud, and you need to adjust it lower in the Cross audio config.
Cheers

Audio outputs volume doesn't matter, this is why there are gains into the software inputs.

Concerning your issue, I presume both cd players are into timecode mode, how is your signal into the vinyl/CD tab ?
Did you switched off the master tempo from the decks ?

Sorry i was on holiday till yesterday. Master Tempo is switched off. Scratch Mode is on. No other programs and devices are running while playing. Could it depend to the hard drive? its no SSD. The Songs are on the same harddrive as mix vibes is.

Hey,

that should be no problem because Cross loads the files into memory. I have files on different hdds and all is working well. No SSD in my setup. Most of the hdds are slow notebook hdds and it's enough for Cross.
Could you please check what heppens when you play on both decks the same song via timecode? is it also skipping away?

And second are both timecode cds total scratch free I mean no damages on the cds? I have one CD here and it skips there too because there is a scratches on it and everytime it comes to this seconds where the CD is broken the song is skipping on Cross.

So please check your cds and also maybe if one players lens are dirty and please test what heppens when you play on both decks the same song.

regards
Christian

The beat skips at different times. Now i ordered a CD to clean the Lense. The Pioneer 800 is around 7 years old and the last cleaning is 4 years ago. Now I try it this way. Otherwise i look forward to order a good Pioneer Controller.

There are some very small scratches on the Timecode CDs.

Hey,

This could cause the issue. I have also a round 8 years old dual CD player and there I have also issues with skipping with Cross.
To your scratches on the timecode CDs this can cause also skippings. I have one CD with also small scratches and there is everytime when on the CD 45seconds and a few milliseconds a little skipping (there seems to be the scratches).
