Question about tagging Mp3 and also hotcues

Hi just a quick question,
Okay i have A lot of old skool viynl i have saved to dvd's over many years before i sold my viynl, I have now put some of it to my storage hard drive, I have started to convert to mp3 so i can add various tags, but i am raring to get doing some mixing and i could be tagging for weeks, so my question is;
1) If i analyze these tracks in Cross ready to mix, but then go on to add these fields, from filename to artist and tital also the year,Group & Comment at later date, will i need to re-analyze these again or will the Cross beat gridding still be okay.

2) If i save hotcues, but then decide to move and play with my hot cues on the fly for creative purposes, will these new hotcues be stored again, or will they revert back to when i first set them, personally i am guessing they will store as in the last state used, if so a funtion request, would be to have them locked and still be able to change them on the fly, but on my next session they revert back, or is this alreday possible ?

Thanks

1) You should first fix your id-tags and then analyse them with Cross. If you analyse them first and after change the filename you should re-import and re-analyse them (i think this will be fixed soon so when we re-import again Cross will "keep" gain and we will not re-analyse them).

2)If you stored your locations (cues) there's nothing to remove them but you. Only if you delete them you will loose them. Locations are stored to your mediabase so please always keep a back up.

Changing tags doesn't modify the analyze done by Cross.
Changing the filename, will create a mismatch, so Cross will analyze the file again.

Okay thanks for information guys,

Thats a major request from me then, may be tricky , but i would guess it can be done.
hot cues made Prior to doing your DJ set, store these and lock the original as stored hotcues , that can then be changed on the fly their after , but will revert back to original next time it is reloaded. Just makes life that much more impulsive and creative, without loosing your favourite Start off hotcues, but if feeling brave on the fly :lol: then we have this option, without loosing the guarnateed good hotcues pre setup, you know what i mean :)

Thanks

A workaround could be to use 1-4 as stored and 5-8 free for live.

In an ideal setup yes, but via my Numark 4trak I only have 5 hot cues and that would have been fine for me, I could have used a modifier, but as i already have modifiers for removal of the hotcues, i just did not want too many layers going on,maybe with time once iam overlly familar with my controller setup,saying that i will probally more often use on the fly anyhow, it just would have been good to have the basic cues, which for instance may be on the breakdowns/breaks, just for fast drop ins, although i have a strip search setup, the Numark stripserach aint all that, really clumsey, maybe i can ajust/fine tune in MIDI setup later if possible.

anyhow thanks for suggestions, all food for thought, so many ways,
I guess as time goes buy i will have to see what is practicle for me to layer up with a third modifiers etc.

Just thought i would ask :)
