went to use a microphone ,found out that it is in the cueing channel,,on in headphones is this normal,,heard that recording thru the software you are unable to have it record,because it doesnt go throught the software,,why would it come throught the headphone channel is this the way mixers are setup to day,,,how can it be isolated from the monitoring /cue forgot to say the obiovious,U-Mix Control Pro,routing mode dual stero,,

From my experience the microphone is hardware only. This means you can hear it through the cue and master channel but it is not recognized by the software.

trying to figure out how to remove it from hearing it while trying to hear the cueing track
more to the point want to have it only on the output of 1/2 which goese to the sound system

I might be stating the obvious here, but have you tried adjusting the cue/master knob on the front? I'm not familiar with the Control Pro, but this has a similar effect on other mixers I've used.

If it's like other gear I've used, turning it all the way to the left (cue), should cut out everything except the channel that you want to listen to.

understand it is a hardware issue,,is it commom place for a mic input to be allowed to be in the cueing/monitoring section most mixers that i had mic inputs also had switches to turn on the mix to listen too ,also switches to switch from mic to line input ,,that you would need to monitor,,, has this changed since the 70's
if this is so then have to arrange a mic setup that does not pass thru cueing,,,hard to beat match a mix with chatter going on in my ear also

will double check but think i had the switch in proper postion, because only the cueing track was audible in the headphones,,

How about decreasing the mic volume to a minimum?

Or get a mic with an on/off switch? I prefer those as I can set the level and forget about it - just turn the mic on and off when I need it and not worry about the volume setting. Much more convenient.

And no - it's not normal for you to hear the mic through the cue channel - usually you have a button to turn the mic monitoring on and off.
