using key strokes to sort collection

:?: :?: :idea: possibilities of using keyboard mapping /key strokes to select the catergories for sorting the collection ,,ie using a keystroke to select the bpm,and another to select the artist,etc,,to be able to rearange the collection .i know you have ability to map functions but does that include this also :?: :?:

:?: Would that fall in the caterogire of ,,preform action on active browsable :?:

I was thinking about the searc area to be able to be triggered by MIDI, and then type with the keyboard.

I hate mousing around... I would be easyer.

Besides: Some DJ softwares has special features to use search, like you press a button a pannel pops up where you can choose the letters, using an encoder, and pressing the encoder will engage searching no need to press the keyboard at all :)

Interesting idea. ;)

Personally, I prefer using the mouse as it's almost like a part of me! I just cannot use the touchpad on my laptop though! :rolleyes:

I do seem to be using my controller more and more, and I agree that a programmable function on the controller, or a quick keystroke to perform actions on the collection would be very useful. :biggrin:

If you can do it with MIDI you can do it with the keyboard : they're the same.
Please explain a very precise scenario so I can get into. ;)

:cool: :cool: you can navigate the mouse over bpm and sort the collection by bpm,you can navigate the mouse over any other of the feilds/colume titles and resort the collection :cool: can this action be controlled by key stroke and even better by MIDI :?: ( but realy just want to use keyboard stroke :cool: :cool:
