using key strokes to sort collection

Postby daniel clark on 07 Apr 2012, 16:55

:?: :?:  possibilities of using keyboard mapping /key strokes to select the catergories for sorting the collection ,,ie using a keystroke to select the bpm,and another to select the artist, etc,,to be able to rearange the collection .i know you have ability to map functions but does that include this also :?: :?:

:?: Would that fall in the caterogire of ,,preform action on active browsable :?:

I was thinking about the searc area to be able to be triggered by MIDI, and then type with the keyboard.

I hate mousing around... I would be easyer.

Besides: Some DJ softwares has special features to use search, like you press a button a pannel pops up where you can choose the letters, using an encoder, and pressing the encoder will engage searching no need to press the keyboard at all :)

Interesting idea. ;)

Personally, I prefer using the mouse as it's almost like a part of me! I just cannot use the touchpad on my laptop though!

I do seem to be using my controller more and more, and I agree that a programmable function on the controller, or a quick keystroke to perform actions on the collection would be very useful.
Summer is here! Only 4 things we need - cold beer, hot ladies, loud music, and more cold beer!

If you can do it with MIDI you can do it with the keyboard : they're the same.
Please explain a very precise scenario so I can get into. ;)
