Hey Guys,

has someone of you the same behavior as followed:
Running Cross on a Mac.
Open iTunes tab
Now here is the problem, that it takes very long time to open iTunes in Cross. Also switching back to the Cross library takes long time.

He runs Cross on a Mac i7 2,2GHz und 4GB Ram, OS X Lion (all updates installed).
He has on both Cross DB and iTunes DB 15895 Tracks all stored on the local internal HDD.

He also tested this feature with the newest Traktor Demo and there iTunes Tab opens fast. So he asked at the german section about the problem because on his old notebook (Windows) it was like on the Mac Traktor demo.

So I hope I have all information wrote down from the thread (http://forum.mixvibes.com/viewtopic.php?f=386&t=23338&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=10) if not we will update this thread.

Regards
Christian

With an existing Cross database or an empty one ?
Something may happen with the parsing.

If you use an already existing crossdatabase, was it converted/migrated from version before 1.7 or is it one made into 1.7 ?

I have an answer:
He tested it with a complete new in Cross 1.7.1 created database. It is emPty as fast as when it is filled with his media.
He had imported all songs from iTunes to Cross.
He set up everything total new on his Mac because he has this for now 2 or 3 weeks.

So only thing he done was to setup a new Cross collection and import his complete iTunes library to the Cross DB.

If you need more info ask me.
Regards
Christian

Ok so actually he have a collection/database with all the songs from his iTunes.
But when switching from collection to iTunes and from iTunes to collection there is a slow state.

Ok, I'm now trying to setup an iTunes library of 15000 tracks to test but I guess it will be ready... one day, may be tomorrow...

19966 tracks with covers on a slow external hard drive.
OSX 10.7.2 / iTunes 10.5.3 / Cross 1.7.1

No issue at all when switching back and forth (as expected).

No, but ask him how is the 1st parsing when going into the iTunes pane. (how the progress bar react)

What is the size of his xml file ? Mine is 28Mb.

And he was asking what I was using : Macbook Pro i7@2.66Ghz / 4Gb / 10.7.2

Hey,

he solved the problem. His iTunes created automatical for all tracks playlists. After deleting the not used and auto created playlists it was normal.
So problem solved. He deleted them all and loaded a backuped old iTunes library file, loaded the tracks new to Cross.
This solved his problem.

So it looks like when having too much playlists it takes longer time to switch between iTunes panel and the Cross panel.
