[solved, case closed] Track Gain

Is there a facility (maybe a secondary button) on the U-Mix Control Pro to change/set the track gain? I have looked in the controller .pdf but all it says is:
holding shift gives many of the buttons a secondary function. Secondary functions are printed inside a
grey box.

BTW, can't see any grey boxes either??

Thanks!

Maybe you want to try the knobs named "Gain".

Highlight the track(s) Click on Info. Expand on details.

You should see "Gain" enter the figure in the box you want to set the Gain to.

Hit Apply.

Does the track gain compensate for a quiet track? As in, is it set outside Cross?

And where to find the secondary button functions please?

Thanks!

It´s the same function, you have 2 gain-knobs within the software,
but they do exactly the same.

You now shurely ask yourself: why is that?

-Gain above the track (as in your picture) is also available when in external mixer mode, so you dont blow your soundcard´s output.
-Gain in the Mixer-panel is to represent the U-Mix Control Pro panel.

its the same just for different occasions.

The secondary functions are printed on the U-Mix Control Pro in gray fields as you already read in the manual.

Thanks, but if you load a track to play on A & the track gain is say 6.8 and on the B player the track gain is set at say 0.0 then surely A will be louder so you would want to turn it down away? And the only way to do this is with the cursor & touchpad on my laptop, and it's way fiddly?

And the only phot I can find of the U-Mix buttons isthis one with no grey boxes?

Thanks!

Please read the manual and analyze all your songs.

As already said: those two gain-knobs in the software are the same.
If one is set to 6.8db then this is due to the autogain which compensates different soundlevels between the tracks.

So No, only because the gain set two different levels doesnt mean one track will be louder, actually they shuld be the same then.

For the secondary functions: look at your U-Mix Control Pro, there a grey blocks with letters in them which indicate exactly those.

Thank's J-Kut, now I have the answer it is set to compensate for a quiet track!

And, thanks I have analysed all of the tracks & I am currently re-analysing them as I have updated to 1.7.1 (please see separate post).

And the grey boxes are the tiny ones with x's by the 1,2 & 3 buttons?

Thanks!

Yes they are, as you can see they´re not the only ones.
