[EN] Vfx 1.3.0 crash when loading track via controller

Hey guys...

I tried to load tracks into the players. no big deal. If I do it via drag'n'drop with my mouse I am fine. If I do it via hardware buttons with the Vfx Control my Vfx crashes immediately and repeatable.

Any idea???

Best greetings

Ralf

I am having an issue as well. When I drag and drop a video in the deck, my processor spikes to 90% and an audible glitch occurs. I have a i7 quad with 8 gigs of ram. This shouldnt be happening.

I have not had a crash though, just the spike and glitch.

Thanks!

hey...
I think that the spike is absolutely O.K.. But the glitch isn't. so maybe we have to talk about audio settings and optimization of the machine first. Pure power is nothing if it is wasted somewhere else. My laptop (not as good as yours) is working fine with music only and gets furious if I have all IMs and several other stuff running. So tell us about settings of your audio driver and if you have tried to optimize your laptop for audio (look for the how-tos here in the forum. it's a powerful hint).

There will be help for your issue, I'm sure.

best greetings to Hawaii from germany

Ralf

We found out that pressing the MEDIA SELECT rotary encoder (OPEN) also crashes the Vfx of my friend and me.

I installed SOLUTO to monitor crashes and it says that MIXVIBES Vfx UNINSTALL crashed. Why UNINSTALL???

Do you try to load media from the Vfx explorer window or mediabase?

Aloha Ralf,

Greetings from Hawaii to Germany! Computer is optimized. Latency is set at 14ms. I had run latency round 5ms no problems in previous versions. Although the glitch happens even at 14ms. So I don't think it is a ASIO issue.

No other programs are running, I even have an ASIO analyzer to watch for spikes from other programs and its showing none.

Working tonight, so I will try adjusting other things. Any suggestions are welcome.

Thank you!

Hey Blast!

think we shall try some steps. what does "dpclat.exe" tell you? you will find it for free in the net. does it gives you a peak when loading a song? In this distance with these information I can only guess that it's some bottleneck in the PC/windows which might be caused by the new version of Vfx interfering in some unwanted way. do you use any instant messenger? PM me if you use skype, msn, icq or Facebook to chat...

cheers

Ralf

Aloha Ralf,

No IM or Facebook. Its a work computer, online is switched off. I did some extensive testing last night.

I increased the latency on the soundcard in diff settings and the glitched happened in all settings.

I turned off the timecode and ran the program manually and the glitch still happened.

I am using the Pioneer DJM900 as my soundcard and I adjusted those settings and I still get the audible glitch when I load the next song.

I will download that program and examine the results tomorrow night.

Are you getting this too or is it just me. Thanks!

my sound is fine. I can work with my system. only issue at the moment: it is not as fast as my Cross. so I can't do any stutering effects with the CUE-buttons because each pressing makes it paralyse for half a second. But the latency is fine. song is starting right like I set the latency. simply no stuttering.

Greetings

Ralf
