We have the same issue with one laptop. Another one is running under same circumstances without any problem.
The crash happened after a while when the memory consumption increased over 3.2GB and the system with 4gb failed. This is reproducable and also happens with only a few tracks in the mediabase without using any video.

Vfx was running on an i5 2450 with 4GB RAM and a GeForce GT630M with 1GB Vram. It was the laptop of "PETER54", a new VFX-VDJ...

Hello
does the laptop uses the i5 internal GPU ?
Some laptops with Intel CPU use an external graphic card for the HDMI output only while the internal screen is driven by the CPU's internal GPU. This configuration sometimes causes a memory consumption constantly rising, even when doing nothing, that will lead to a crash.

It is an ACER laptop. We had a look at the ACER FAQ and directly managed the Grafics cards with a command like: "open with GT 630M" or similar. but this doesn't change anything. After having opened the program the memory consumption constantly rises, even if all tracks are stopped. With my laptop (only one grafics card) and with other programs than VFX-CONTROL on that laptop this issue doesn't appear.

any workarounds???

Greetings

Ralf
