Problem with monitor while using Numark DJ I/O Audio Interfa

I am using the Numark DJ I/O Multi Channel USB 2.0 DJ Audio Interface with my Cross DJ. My controller is Numark Total Control, but I don't think this has much to do with the question. When I go to Audio to select the output device I select Numark USB AUDIO DEVICE.
Output 1 is Output 1/2 which goes to speakers
Output 2 is Output 3/4 which feeds into the monitor and headphones.
The problem I am having as that in the cue output I can always hear both tracks even if i have the Headphones icons (cue monitor A and Cue Monitor B deselected). This turns into a mess of sound and I cannot hear one without the other. When I turn off the headphones its just like a slightly muffled version of the track.
Any suggestions?
