Hi,

im having problems with my connection. it first happend months ago, i left my timecodes at home and was gonna use flexible mode. this is what i did when i got to the club. connected soundcard to laptop n then output 1 n input 1, played the track and then tried connecting output2 evrything was ok but as soon as the cable for input 2 made contact mixvibes just stopped playing.

this happend the other week again. i first thought it had to do with timecodes. but this time i hade the time codes in and as soon as i made contact for teh final connection it cut out again.tried pressin play and evrything nothing worked. had to quickly remove all the connection and put a cd in the cdj. i restarted laptop used different phono cables and teh same thing happend. i did the same process again and it worked fine.

last week something i have never experienced happend. evrything was working i went to turn the fan on which was by my power cable for laptop, i just nudged the cable and the volume went. evrything else was active n looked normal but no sound. i quickley changed the cables put in a cd, shut down mixvibes restarted it and evrything was working fine. the following day it happend again and i just put the volume up and restart the track. it makes no sense

and once the track was playing backwards.

has anyone experienced this before

No but you seem to have some electrical issue with your hardware.
- is it a laptop ?
- if yes does it also happen only on batteries (no ac plugged in) ?
- any usb ports is doing this ?
- all this happened at the same place ?
- do you use the ground connection ?

What is happening to you, is that when you try to hook something, you give an electrical shock (short-circuit ?) that simply turn off/on the soundcard.

Yes i do have a laptop. Ive neva djd without plugging it in. I alwayz use the same usb port might try another see if anything changes. This all happend at the same club yes. How do i ground it? I kno with vynal there is the earth wire but im using cdj's. How do i prevent this from happening because its ruining my nights. Is a problem with the soundcard. What could be solving the short circuit. I believe it is that because when i restart the volume is rele low.. My laptop is a dell 15r inspiron 3gig 2.53ghz and is fairly new so i do not see it being the problem.

Thanks i realy appriciate your input

I didn't asked you to DJ with pluggin it, I asked you test without to see if it still happen.

This all happend at the same club yes.

If you can't reproduce this issue anywhere else then the place might be the issue.

You can't, though you were using vinyls.

I can't tell, need more answers...

hi,
i djd at a different location the other day and it happend again. now we know its not just the venue. i even tried switching the cdj off whilst i disconnect it but it still shut down the soundcard.

the thing is that it doesn't always happen. i tried djing withouht the power cable plugged in in it worked fine but it has also worked fine before with the power cable plugged in.

i had ma computer checked and everything is fine.

is it the soundcard thats faulty?

Yes it could be faulty. If you think it is, get back to your reseller store.

How did they check your usb ports on the laptop ? Beware !
Mine was tested with usb thumbrive and so on and didn't show anything because they could copy/move files to and from as they like.

But when I explained them it was about stream interruption for audio application in real time, they understood that I knew what I was doing and simply replace the motherboard. And never have issue after this...

juust went into the shop where i bought the laptop and they said they will send it away but doubt they will find any problems as they will do a routine check. i told them that its to do with the motherboard and they should direct their focus on on the motherboard.

Thanks
