Slight Delay On Headphones [Solved]

Hi again guys, I'm back with a different problem this time!

To solve my previous problem I upgraded to Cross DJ, and it's awesome. No doubt about that!

My problem is that there's a slight delay in my headphones - just enough to be noticeable and annoying.

I'm using a laptop with in-built soundcard, and an external soundcard which is runnig the headphones. I'm using Asio4all to get the sound coming out of both soundcards.

Could this be something to do with latency? I've heard that mentioned before, but I don't quite understand it.

I hope that someone can help as it's confusing my finely-tuned ears!

  :?: in the asio 4all control panel see what the latency is for the headphones ,also what is the latency set in preferences/audio,,the lower you go with out corrupting the output then that what you can set it up with, time too tweak on the setting till you find what works best, ,,remenber i informed you that this set up is just workable because of the sc setup, and the limitations of the computer  (vista)the ideal sc set up would be to have a multi channel sc and use it to split the master, monitor siginals.  or U-Mix Control Pro with sc  the user guide with asio4all should give you a little bit more info and shed some light on the latency issues

Marked another one up as solved! :)

After quite a bit of experimenting, it seems that it was the laptop speakers causing the problem. Plugged the laptop into an amp, tried a few mixes, and the headphones/line out was perfectly in sync with my usb soundcard.

It was only a tiny delay, but enough to put me off, but that's history now, thank goodness.

I've got the perfect opportunity to test the system out tomorrow, as I do a regular, but informal karaoke night at a local club. I can test out the laptop and software, knowing that I have the club's own equipment as back-up.

Thanks again for the help.

If anyone else has this same problem - do what I did - get an external soundcard. I promise you, it makes an immense difference.

My setup works brilliantly now! :D

I got an external one from play.com. Even though it was very cheap, it's performance is very, very good.
