Out of memory error Vfx

When organizing my database I get an "Out Of Memory" error when saving the mediabase. This leads to losing all of my "Groups".
I just upgraded to 8gb of RAM. Error still occurs and I lose hours of work. Could it be the size of my database? its at around 50mb at the moment.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I just want to know if I am doing something wrong or if this is a bug.
