No MIDI devices in Cross

Hi,

This week i did a dual booth on my laptop. The second windows 7 I installed has only one job: running Cross!

I tweaked this windows 7 by shutting down services and drivers.
After doing this all the audio still works fine, but when I connect a MIDI device Cross doesn't seem to find any device at all.
In preferences/MIDI I get a screen whith only a link to the compatible devices page.

So does anyone know if Cross needs a service to recognize MIDI devices?

thx ;)

How and which services did you deactivate? All windows services should be activated. In msconfig there is an option for hiding all windows service so that you can only de-/activate service that do not affect the system.

Cheers,

Steve

Could it be, somehow you have disabled your USB ports or something relating to them?

Have you tried any other USB devices?

I deactivated a lot. all internet related services, windows defender, firewall, security centre,...

After turning them all back on I checked Cross again and my MIDI device page looked like it should. So now I m gonna shut down all services one by one and check if one causes the MIDI malfunction.

Thx for the help ;)

Probably you disabled the "HID" (Human Interface Device Access) service. That's why the MIDI is not responding. Don't forget that, some times, you have to restart laptop so the service will start.

Hope it helps
