No sound, Music has blank spot during play, MacMini OSX 10.5

I have noticed a glitch in the audio while playing tracks in mixvibes Cross 1.2.5 on a mac mini 1.83ghz intel core2duo with 1gb ram. I am usually running iTunes and sprint smartview/firefox for internet. When these songs play in iTunes, there are no glitches. When I play at weddings, ( i use vinyl for house music gigs, mixvibes for weddings.) I do not use any control vinyl. I just use the program to output the audio streams unless someone pays me enough to bring the turntables out.

**The funny part is I can see the blank spot on the track overview strip that shows the wave form. When the blank spot hits the playline, sure enough, it glitches to no sound. I thought it was because I have made a couple copies from my original hard drive and there were errors on the drive. Then I realized it happened on a track that I just downloaded from iTunes! Now I know it can not be from having old data.

Anyone have ideas about what is causing the glitch?

disable your bluetooth and wifi internet from. then you go to your energy options, and disconnect the switch to turn off the disk. and never standby operation.

then should it goes.

in Cross u switch your soundcard to ASIO,with 44100hz and 256samples.

thats it.

Thanks for the reply.

Bluetooth may have been on then, as it was on when I just looked at my macmini. I keep airport off as standard.

I had turned off the energy saving option for hard disc shutdown, but left the monitor selection at 1hr. I was using the comp when it crashed, so nothing should have happened with respect to those.

For soundcards, the finalscratch box pops up automatically, and is asio compliant, so there is nothing to select for asio. I have had 44100 and 512 samples, giving me an even larger buffer, so I should experience less glitching.

Hello djclintoris !

Thank you for your message.

About your problem, if you can "see the glitch" on the waveform, it's certainly due to a decoding error. It often means the MP3 is a bit corrupted. Some MP3 decoders will fail whereas others won't ! It really depends on the encoder, the decoder and on the kind of decoding error.
MP3 is not a simple world ;)

Anyway, if you could send this MP3 to me, I could check it on my own and maybe see what's going wrong.

Thank you in advance for your help !

Cheers,
