Hi

I try today to add songs in Cross from external HD, but the cross-explorer wan't to see my folder with some special character like: ö,à ê etc...
Image

Config:
Cross 1.1 for Mac
My ext. HD is formated to NTFS

I'am not sure, but probably is my problem, because with a MAC-formated ext. HD I don't have this problem, also with a FAT-formated HD

It seems that utf8 caracter format (you see all caracters even japanese) isn't in use within the explorer. Thanks for the report it's a bug to solve.

Hi,

I couldn't reproduce this bug, neither on Tiger nor on Leopard, with a NTSF formatted hdd.
BUT, I could reproduce the issue with an UFS formatted hdd.

I would need more infos :
What is the OSX version you're using to trigger the bug ?
Which soft formatted your hdd to NTFS format ? on which OS ?
On which OS did you typed the foldername which isn't displayed
in the explorer of Cross ?

In the same time, I'll be trying to fix the similar bug i triggered on the UFS formatted hdd.
Thanks a lot for your feedback ;)

Hi... I used the OSX version 10.5.5 with the MacFuse/NTFS-3G (the latest available version in Nov08) driver to read and write a NTFS Partition.

The HD was formated with the OSX Disk Utility to NTFS, also with the NTFS-3G driver.

Foldername was type on OSX.

Alright..

Indeed, with your further informations I could reproduce your bug (#690), using ntfs-3g drivers to write foldernames on the ntfs partition under OSX.

The workaround I recently found for the similar bug I triggered (with the UFS format) seems to fix your bug (with the NTFS format).

As a result, the bug should be fixed in the next beta version of Cross (>1.1.3), so please be ready to check it and to keep me in touch !

Thanks for all and keep on testing !

Cheers,
Nicolas
