Unfortunately, there are problems due to the implementation of the roll that is native effect in software as DJ and VDJ.
The problem is that you can not add any other effects while roll is active...
I usually use the roll together the filter, but in this case, while the roll is active you can not even use the equalizer or adjust the volume.
I suppose that roll records on the fly the sample but this can not be modified.

This is a serious limitation for me and it is for this reason that mixvibes has "masked" the roll substitute it whit "loop + slip."

if you want to test the mapper file and let me know what you like ...
At the moment you can not do better ...

For that you would have to use the 2nd FX unit in Master input mode. I don't think Mixvibes "masked" this as a limitation, on the contrary it allowed the flexibility of independent loop and slip controls. Every DJ is different and every DJ has different workflows the trick is to try to empower the majority of the users as opposed to small group. That is why you are free to map your controller to match your workflow as you see fit. In for example you do not have that choice. It is mapped the way they want and that is it.

Even I personally have some gripes about the software and I tried express my concerns here. The thing that bothers me the most is not knowing if anyone is listening but I keep trying.

obviously "work in progress" :)

To figdj

For many reasons I can't say more than your very good post are read and appreciate.
You know, we work sometimes in the shadow while you and all users write under spotlights. Any updates, we do a lot, are free and take care as far we can of users desire. Sometimes we share them sometimes not... Development takes huge time to make a competitive product stable.
Platform are different, computer specifications different and our job is to manage Cross for all needs. That's a challenge and we deal we it as far as we can. We never say before a release what's our future is so just do as all of us wait and test. It's brand new and very often free.
