I have 2 Technics 1210 and the Allen and Heath 23C and use a mac book with Cross LE latest version to record. My recording output format is .wav ... so thats basicly it and when i record the limiter is slightly in the red with 2 or 3 stripes. could this be another problem too?

and with main volume you mean the gain in the right upper corner? on the maximum while recording with turntables?

Your main volume shouldn't be red continuous. If you record line/phono in this case means you have to reduce your input volume in audio settings tab of preferences.

The marker in the volume bars indicates line level volume. This is the level that is used to communicate between equipment. Only at the last step it should be turned into louder volume, by amplifier/speaker.

When using tt for recording as a source there may be more issues causing trouble. Like needle picking up environment (e.g. if monitor speakers behind tt..)

That's why I asked to record a digital track to rule out Cross/Mac problem and be able to focus on the real cause.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).
