Asio is only for sound. MIDI is a different protocol, handled by different drivers (where MIDI is handled at OS level).
So jogging issues can't be caused by asio.
With some exception which is that the system can't keep up with the action (like dropouts) due to audio buffersize. This however doesn't seem to be the case for your issue.

Audio dropouts? Increase audio 'buffer size' value.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

Understood. does anyone understand the ABS/REL comment in the denon set up guide? again this is the one variable I am unsure of. I do not see the setting in Cross.

ABS/REL refer to the mode in which time code is going to be used.

Normally at the end of a TC code (for example using turntables) when the needle reaches the end of the vynil

in ABS= absolute position mode you would have to reposition the tonearm back to the beginning.

in Rel=relative position you can drop the needle in any place on the grooves and the track starts from the beginning.

Also if there a bumb when the needle jumps
in ABS=the track picks up from the place that the needle lands
in Rel=the track picks up from the time it skiped.

For CDJs I would use rel mode that way the duration in time of the time code signal is not tied to the duration of the track. and you can put the CDJ in an endless loop.

It is really a preference, try it one way and if it is not for you then try the other.
Also rel mode is better for scratching on CDJ.

I normally don't do TC so I hope I explained that corectly. Perhaps someone else can shime in.

Better explanation from the Cross Manual

Absolute Mode
In this mode, the playback position of the control vinyl/disc does not corresponds precisely with the playback position of the audio file in the player. So, if you lift the needle and drop it one minute further towards the end of the vinyl, the track will be played back from the new detected position. Use the Absolute mode when you wish to use your turntable’s needle (or the seek function on your CD player) to skip thru the track. If you are using CD decks, you can also use their cueing and looping capabilities.

Relative Mode
In this mode, the playback position of the control vinyl/
disc does not correspond with the playback position of the audio file in the player. In relative mode the Cross timecode engine only detects the playback speed and the playback direction, not the position information. If you lift the needle, the deck stops. If you then drop the needle at another location playback resumes from the same position where the needle was lifted. It does not matter
where you drop the needle.

Where is this setting made in Cross? I am not seeing it. It is probably not related to the issue I have, but I should try to see if its setup per the docs.

The buttons switch between relative and absolute mode.
The one closest to the center is absolute.
The one closest to the right side is relative.
Picture is showing relative mode.

So thank you- the pieces are starting to come together. I also spoke to denon support and they are also looking at the ABS/rel as an issue.
Attached is what I am seeing in my display. It appears that I am not in external control mode per the Cross user guide. So I am not seeing the ABS/rel settings. This brings me back to the "0" quality I am seeing in the vinyl/cd tab in preferences. Does this "0" quality mean anything to anyone? Please see screenshot earlier in this post.

 in the manual for Cross is info for set up of the timecode ,.it helps in understanding how it works ,, that and the manual from denon should give you some more pieces to the puzzel

Daniel, I followed the manual for time code setup. I followed Denon's guide as well. The screenshots I posted should show that. There is something else going on here and I am looking for someone who might have seen this before. Clearly the signal is being seen by the application. The question is why is the quality 0. So far I have not found a good explanation on how to troubleshoot this.
