Re: Crash when loading tracks from mapped drive

Postby MrKite on 23 Jan 2014, 23:11

Hi,

I turned off the mirror on the HD that contained the tracks. I still need to relocate over a thousand tracks at startup (does not take long, about 40sec.) started playing and on some tracks the program still crashes, even on tracks that I know for shure I played yesterday!

I fired up 2.6.0, I can load the tracks in there but when I start analyzing my collection (analyzing is indicated as not done) on an unknown track the program crashes very fast.....

I think I'll have to reinstall windows on the mirrored drive and hope all my problems are gone after a fresh install but this is not some fun thing to do, I want to play music in my free time. So if you have any suggestions I can try, they are more than welcome...

Could it have anything to do with the OS running on an SSD? I hope not as they are the future cariers for data in all devices.

If I would delete the complete collection and re-import all the music files, would I loose my q-points and loops or are those stored in the ID-3 tag like serato does?

If it's just the analysing and history information I would loose than I can live with that, Also if Iwould export the playlists I have, can I read them back in from the exports? This could be a lot more work but still worth the go. Loosing Q-points would be very bad...a lot of work to redo them.

I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi,

last update, I promise.... for today.

Could it be that my database file got corrupted? I already mentioned that I am unable to delete missing tracks from the database although they are really missing. I noticed when I was using 2.6.0 again (and was also crashing) that when I loaded an earlier collection I could delete the files from the DB (but still had a crash later on....)

I now created a new collection file and started to import about half of my collection (1 style of music, the one I had trouble with so all those files are there) and the PC is now analyzing all the tracks, so far so good.....

when done I'll try to save that work and load an older backup collection (made a backup in december) and see if I have the same problems with that one, or even older. Right now I've lost my Q-point info, which after all i had to set back also every gig in the analog days.... but modern technology makes us lazy on one hand and more creative on the other...

Tomorow is another day and I hope to get some possitive news in this tread....

Hi,

I could load all the files I tried, analyzed them all, no problems.

I opened an older backup of my collection and played around a little (not much time) but it looks like everything is solved, I only lost some newer playlists but had exported them and import, relocate.... all fine.

Thanks for the support, if you would like the corrupted db file for investigating, let me know and I'll send it to you.

I hope it lasts a long time now before the Db gets corrupted again. Glad I had a backup from last month.
