I just did the following:
I looked in Cross MC2000 mapping which MIDI command is used by "Set Cue". It is note 42 + modifier 1 which is note 60.
Then i googled "Denon mc 2000 MIDI pdf" and found it on third place. Here i searched which button sends note 60 and 42.
Should be Shift and Cue button.
So i guess you have to push shift and cue, did you tried this?

Hi Marxon, apologies, i don't have a great understanding of MIDI mappings. I just tried holding 'Shift' the 'Cue' to mark the point but this doesn't seem to work either. It still decides to mark the cue point where it wants to (mostly fractionally forward of where it should be)
I would expect the 2000 and 3000 to be similar in terms of MIDI commands but who knows with Denon...
Edited to add: the 'Set Cue" commands on the MC3000 are also ML1 + N42

AH HA!! You may be on to something here!!! The 'Sync Zone' was hidden so didn't see that value! It was set to '1' so this may well be the problem! I've set it to 1/8 and will give that a try as first impressions look good!  2011 i7 17" MacBook Pro Quad Core 2.2Ghz 8gb Ram

Marxon i think this is the problem i think, setting the value to 1/8 or disabling seems to work. Must try playing with the other settings though, didn't realise enabling the 'Quantize' delayed the track start by the set time. Thought i'd messed something up as it was set to 4 like your jpeg.  Ok guys, thankyou again for your help on this. If i find it hasn't worked i'll report back. Maybe i should read the manual more closely  2011 i7 17" MacBook Pro Quad Core 2.2Ghz 8gb Ram
