Vfx with Cdj's? plese help

I'm just trying to get the whole working. Not made easy by the manual.
As mentioned in my previous post
"I have followed the instructions in the manual and tried to rename it as instructed but get the message "incorrect path"
So i am stuck as i cant' go any further??

To rename what ?
- is it ok for the CDJ and the HID ?
- is it ok with the soudncards of the decks ?

Try to do thing step by step, not the whole in a batch...

Ok, from the begining.
I plugged the djm 800 into the laptop went to the preferences menu and selected new
In the description the manual asked me to rename the device which i tried to do and a box appeared with incorrect path.
This means that I cannot progress any further as The programme wil not see the mixer as a device?.
Unfortunatley nothing in the manual or you tube tutorial go through a step by step account of how to set up cdj's and a mixer.
I thought once i plugged my mixer in it would appear in the MIDI device drop down menu and would be reconised. but no.

There are still questions you never answered till now :
- what version of Vfx do you have ?
- is the HID ok with the cdj ?
- are you using wasapi or asio ?
- did you install the Pioneer asio driver ?

Now for the MIDI part :
- when Windows have detected/installed the device (hardware manager)
- open Vfx
- go to Preferences/MIDI
- you will see the name of the device (white letters with greyed background)
- open the drop box and select 'Create a new mapping'
- a pop-up box will ask you to type in the name
- type it and presse enter
- now you have your device name associated with the new (empty) mapping file you have just created.

There is obviously something wrong, I also have a 1.3.0.4464 and my menus doesn't look like yours, nor the GUI. You don't even have the HID menu, you're running a 1.2

You need to run Install_vfx.exe from the downloaded folder.
If weird things still happening try to run reset.exe from the installed folder.

Here is what it should looks like :

Phew. So I'm not going mad then.
Where do I find the folders you mention?

When you have downloaded the update, you've got a zip file.
Unzip it and into the expanded copy simply click the install_vfx.exe

HID + Advanced HID support and CDJ behaviour mimic
Just plug your CDJ2000 or CDJ900, choose the corresponding channel. That’s all.
You will have access to all CDJ feature including:
- list scrolling
- artwork browsing
- needle search
- loop adjusting
- high precision jog wheel

Loop adjusting (using wheel)
You can now adjust an existing loop. While in a loop, just press in or out and adjust the point with the jog wheel.
