But i hear what your saying on a serious note:
its not really a bug ; i think its more of a request for "auto gain on the sampler tracks". I have noticed it too, and think that if it is applied to the decks, the same should go for the sample trigger banks.
Yeah, that Ben dude pisses me off all the time too
Cheers
But you don't get it...
The sampler is not a toy stuff, with a bunch of slots for sounds.
If you perform live with a lot of samples going on, you have to be aware of the mixing of each sample.
Its basicly on-going mastering of the pads.
This is the level of DJing where everyone must be a Producer a little bit, 'cause you are creating new stuff on the fly.
No offense, but if you don't have the right stuff to control, you have to figure it out yourself how to do.
What I tryied to practice, is that, when I load a sample, I decrease the volume of the loaded pad to half (using mouse scroller quickly), so it is sure can be heared but it is not overvolume.
And after It is done I make sure the frequency bands are not overplayed - for this the prefade volume meter on the channel is perfect. And then when the stuff is already playing, I'm using one hand on the controller and the other hand with the mouse to try to set them to their best level.
There is no similar scanerios on this, if you do it live. Everything is different and autogain does not solve the problems.
It is complitely a level meter and ear duty to do all 8 sample pads live.
I'm trying to figure out how can I use my keyboard more efficiently, as I removed the EQ from the mapping.
What I will try, is that, I assing my "QWERTZ" line of the keypoard to select select pads on active sampler deck (q,w,e,r,t,z,u,i), the buttons under those are volume minus plus, and with shift I'll try to scroll them different mods.
THEN o,p,ő,ú,l,é,á,ű will be the sample triggers for each active deck.
I'm on small setup mixing for a long time, for years only a keybord and a mouse, and VDJ, and Cross, and it works for me, I got used to mousing around.
BTW I suggest this: If you get and LPD8 (which I will get soon), there are 8 pads and 8 knobs, for level control...
Get 2 of them, and you got everything to use the samples, and the placement of the 2 LPD-s are easy cause they are not one big controller...
@J-kut: Sorry for pissing you off, but it seemed to me, you don't understand the principals of using smaples.
