Mapping for Terminal Mix 8

Postby smoses on 18 Jun 2015, 07:25

Can you please provide the mapping for Reloop Terminal Mix 8? I don't want to use Serato with the device. Is there any plans to support the device? You support the TM4, why not the TM8 or any other new controller?

I would if I knew how to do this. Any chance mixvibes supporting the TM8 as soon as possible?

Chances are always there, promises not likely.

The MIDI section has a build in editor. If you spend an other minute you may quickly find out how easy it is to get it started.

Support for the more advanced part is available by other users. Eg Midi-monster FigDJ.

I am in Sydney, Australia right now. I will be back in the United States on 18 October. I will be able to help with the map then.

OK, my issues with posting permissions are over and i'm willing to give it a try.
If smoses and jimm can do there part of the deal, cuz i'm not willing to do this on my own.
I've tried this in the past for my reloop BM2 and the hard part where the led outputs! And the TM8 is way more advanced then the BM2 :(

I'm using the TM8 now for months with serato and i'm used to it now so it wouldn't be a big deal for my to stay on the serato software.

@ FigDJ is it worth to map the TM8 on the 3.3.11 app with the (maybe) comming of an update to MV 4 ? Just asking this cuz i'm not up for it if the mapping with the comming of update 4 to map it once again !

Cheers J(ürgen)

Even if there are changes with a new Cross version the major part of the work will reusable.

The only thing that could be changed is the name of the commands that Cross uses internal. And if they would do this all mappings would require modification, which isn't that likely, nor is it likely that they change to much in here as MIDI is working pretty well with Cross.
Changes would basically be a search and replace through a mapping. Can be an easy DOS(or powershell) file to simplify this if not build in by the devteam.

The output commands won't change as these are controller specific.

So if you just do the basics and no user specific modification there is little chance the next version of Cross causes your time to be wasted.

I think it is worth doing the map in version 3.3.11 since we don't know the timing of a new release for Cross.

I just looked at the MIDI documentation available for this controller and it is very good which will make it easier to map.

From what I have seen so far, if a new release for Cross comes out the 3.3.11 functionality will still be there. However, in order to take advantage of all capabilities the entire FX section will need to be re-mapped.

The ideal situation would be to have the controller available for testing as I map.
Not having that I would say to post your current map and then I could built up from that to include all features and LED feedback. Then it would be a back and forward communication until the map gets to a perfect (no bugs) state.

If there is someone near me (Odenton, Maryland USA) that is willing to put in about 5 hours then we can have this mapped perfectly in 2 days.
