Postby djkrazykris on 11 Mar 2015, 17:11

i've been having a hard time trying to map these buttons correctly on a ddj-s1 when using the sync function, not that i need it, i just want everything to work properly. they do play and pause and cue, but when the sync function is on, it doesn't work. does anyone have any insight to this please? thanks

When commands get conditional some more logic is required...
FigDJ is the one who can help you best in this...

You can send him a PM to ask him to join this topic for you.

I;ll have to do some reasearch to find the MIDI table for this controller. In the meantime please post your current map so i can check it out. it possible I might be able to find the problem without the actual table being available.

In the path like
c:\users\username\appdata\roaming\mixvibes\controllers\MIDI
you can find your mapping file (by date/time).

When you reply to a postyou should have the option to add attachment at the bottom of the post.

Select a file and then upload.
After this go back to the added attachment(s) and select 'place inline' to add it into your post.

I found the MIDI table.

looking at your map

1. Cue is OK

2. You should also map Shift+ cue to NeedleSearch with a valu of 0
This way shift +Cue takes you to the beginning of the track.

The physical trick with mapping shifted buttons using Cross mapping interface is

locate the command
click the + to map
press cue and shift at the same time.
while still holding the cue andshift buttons (3 arm move or hold a pen with your mouth) click ok on the Cross interface.

3. Play button mapped incorrectly. You should map the play button to the playpause command.

Then using the 3 arm technique as described above (LOL) map cueplay to work when you press shift+play.

Additional comments

This controller is normally setup for 2 channels and 5 cuepoints. However, looking at the MIDI table reveals that this controller is capable of accepting a custom map for 4 channels with 8 cuepoints each and the additinal mapping of 8 sampler pads.

Something that you may want to check out later after the basic map is ready.
