Recording problems: Clipping & distortion

Hello,

I've used this program in the past to record mixes earlier this year and have not had problems with it. But now for some reason when recording a mix, my recordings come out distorted (bass especially) and clippy for some tracks, even though they sound fine coming out of my speakers while im mixing.

See attached for screenshots, let me know what other information i can provide to help you help me :)

 well the screen shots look good now ,,
:?: first asumption is all tracks are anylised and somewhat equal in track out put ,,
 seems track a is at a higher gain level than needed ,, cliping in the red ,, while track b is lower than needed ,,
 the limiter is on and should be keeping the out put at a good level  not shure if the limiter controls the rec volume also
the two tracks showing are gain adjusted to some extent but might want to adjust them futher ,, ie track a down , track b up .. by the gain volume control for the track itself ,, ,trying to keep the led levels at 0 gain ,, meaning in the yellow steady not clipping in the red ,

by adjusting and keeping the track gains at this level ,,try recording and adjust thease levels till you reach a good recording

also , disable the limiter and see what your output sounds like if it sounds like your recordings ,, then this will confirm that your levels are not adjusted correctly ,,,,recall seeing a very good youtube video explaining how to set o db levels for DJ equptment

recently did a recording session for a friend for cd and didnt encounter no problems ,,

So i tried disabling the limiter and it does in fact cause the output to have the same problems as when i record it, which means that somehow the limiter function isn't applied to my recordings? is there a way to fix this?

I don't really know much about adjusting the gains throughout the mix (and would prefer to not have to worry about it, i have the gain knobs assigned to filter atm). Again i've recorded mixes earlier this year and have not had this problem

track gain Capture.PNG
 you are just going to have to adjust your track gains as to them playing in the yellow area /0 db

 or use another recorder to rec the limiter enabled output

The limiter is an equipment protection limiter. For recording this isn't really required as only the succeeding playback needs protection.

Adjusting Main volume would be the simplest resolution. At least in most sits.

Many volume steps are involved in getting output volume. So comparing a long time ago is hard to compare as even one or 2 points less master volume may make the difference.

The red markings really are the best indicator, also for live output.
