New PC...

Postby djeddie on 14 Feb 2015, 02:36

I've just put together a new PC that I'll be using as my main playout. My question is this; do I need to re-analyze the entire music / video collection when moving over to the new PC?
The file structure will still be the same on the new PC. They're both stored (D:\MUSIC and then various subfolders, but exactly the same).
Also, if I don't need to re-analyze, what else do I need to copy to the new PC?

You have to copy the analysis folder. Old name was peak folder.

Also collection[s]

If you created personalised keyboard or MIDI mapping than also these. Stored in users folders of c drive.

I would not copy the settings file. Just ga through the preferences and set the right like your folders.

Soundcard not available/working? Try the 32bit version of Cross (is also installed).

It would be easiest to use function

Collection > Backup collection

which creates a backup file of analysis, playlists etc and optionally also all the media files (which you don't need since your music folder is already copied).

Then you only need to unzip the backup file and open it in the new computer running Mixvibes. Works like a charm.
