Can't resolve missing tracks

Postby ntwlwb99 on 01 Dec 2014, 23:55

I am trying to convert my music collection to AIFF and was hoping not to lose all my beat grid and cue information. I've deleted 10 song files from iTunes and have now added back those files as AIFF to iTunes. Now when i go to resolve the missing tracks with the new file location with the AIff file it appears grayed-out and i can't select it. Any ideas??

This won't work.
Converting a file means you created a total different file. Other encoder and decoders are involved, so all data has to be recreated. It will even be rare if the grid and cue will remain as the convertion often leads to minor shifts in time. So old t=0 may be t=0,1sec in the new version.

Thanks for your replies. I tried using platinum notes to convert into aiff but half of the tracks didn't have the album art coming across in iTunes after the conversion. I also tried XLD which is bringing all artwork across to the new aiff file so at least it saves a little trouble for me. thanks again.
