Out of practice and trying to connect vinyls

Postby maddyc on 02 Aug 2014, 10:11

Hi all,

I haven't played in a while and i have a vinyl itch. Im trying to connect two Technic vinyl decks to control pro 2.

After much fiddling about last night i did manage to get sound from both but not good quality sound at all. Levels were through he roof at very low volume and very muffled sound.

In preferences i followed the manual, have phono selected and reduced the dB right down in case this improved sound quality. Also changed to line on the Cross panel.

I did notice that if i connect one deck the sound was good and as soon as i connect the second the sound quality dropped right down again.

Can anyone give any advice?

 I think you need to re read the manual ,, switches on back of control pro to phono and phono selected in the preferences ,, line selected in the gui ,, think you have one of the phono selected as line ,, might be wrong ,, just peeked at the manual ,, doesn't seem the same as what you are explaining ,, double check ,,

Completely confused myself now and decided to go back to basics and use my original mixer but still want to use control pro and Cross.

Ive rewired the whole lot without MIDI and starting again. Now what i want to achieve is able to play std vinyls and also timecodes. Use original mixer and control pro for effects and recording. Im sure this is possible but my brain has gone to fog!

Any advice greatly received or shall i start a new thread!

 nope same thread is good ,, referinng to the manual ,

what have you tried and do you have the t c vinals ,, kinda remembering that t c can run and control the tracks as well as MIDI commands control the mixer ,, best of both worlds ,, and answers will need somme info and screen shots to help us figure it out

 if you connect the u cp2 as it was a mixer and use internal audio set up in preferences ,, but that will have the Cross fader controling the tracks ,, and that Cross fader is possibly not a strong as your mixer c fader ,
