Strange problem with the Half BPM function

Postby Idan Korenblum on 02 May 2014, 12:20

The "half bpm" function sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For example, I have a song of 77.5 BPM, I click sync in order to sync it, so it goes to 110 BPM (the BPM of the track on the other deck). Then I want to half it to 55 BPM. I click half BPM, and nothing happens.

Ok I see now that the meaning of this button is not actually to half the BPM but to reset it to another value. So if I first double it I can make it to work, but this is somewhat clumsy to my opinion. I wish there was a simple way to more accurately control the BPM.

Don't be mistaken, this double/halve buttons change the grid/BPM of a song. they don't change the playback speed and are not intended to be used live, only when preparing tracks!

Lowest BPM allowed in Cross is 40.
You can change the detection range in preferences. Almost all BPM detection tools require a preset range.
If you don't like the calculated BPM you can adjust by clicking in he BPM field of the deck. Click at each beat for a while. Wait a second and the 'OK' will show to allow saving the new value.
Apart from drifting BPM (manual drums) some tracks have irregular BPM which might be a reason for you to select an other value.
