Cross DJ startup time

Postby discopex on 26 Jan 2014, 18:47

I have seen the startup time increasing in the last couple of software revisions, I just timed it at 2:08 minutes which feels kinda long. I think it was faster before V2.6. How much does collection size affect this ? I have 11.500 tracks right now (being a record pool hog  ). Has anyone else noticed longer startup times ? :?:

That's a very long time indeed. I have just timed Cross, 3 times. On my old system it only took 14 secs to open and I have over 35,000 tracks in my Collection.

Something is not quite right on your system, mate

It's usually when I run CrossDJ the first time after Windows boot that takes long. After closing and reopening it might take around 30 seconds. AND for some reason CrossDJ.exe also takes a long time to disappear from task manager processer after quitting the program, sometimes I need to kill the process within task manager. This is also something new with recent versions. Anyone had similar experiences? this is pretty weird to me.

Running on OSX, and it's the same speed as always. Fast. I have around 12k tracks. Have you tried defragging?

Alrighty, did some fine tuning - freed up hdd space and tweaked my pagefile settings. Now it seems CrossDJ is closing properly, which is nice. Still after a fresh reboot the first time I fire up CrossDJ it takes around 2 minutes. But after closing it the reopening is under 20 seconds. This might be sort of normal then ?
