Transfer collection from PC to Mac

Postby LaurentB_4_0 on 22 Sep 2013, 13:20

I use Cross DJ 2.5 on PC and I'm thinking about buying a MacBook. Is there any smooth way to migrate and save all my locators ?

Not Possible.

But ,
possibility 1 = export collection in xml File
Possibility 2 = export in m3u

and

You need to relocate all the files, on Mac.

@Daniel : I didn't make my mind so far the Macbook. I'm thinking about a 15" Intel Core i7 à 2,3 GHz 4 Mo SDRAM, non-retina because I don't see the need for high resolution screen with Mixvibes but I hesitating about the Hard drive. I guess SSD 512 Mo would be fine but it's so damned expensive !!!

Any piece of advice ?

FYI

I made an xml exportation of my PC database with the Rekordbox button but when I imported it on the Mac, all the locators were imported twice

Finally the transfer was easier than expected (a couple of hours to relocate some tracks) but I have a huge clean-up to do with the locators :rolleyes:

One example found in the xml file created on the PC :

Code: Select all
<TRACK TrackID="4878" Name="Feel So Close (Extended Mix)" Artist="Calvin Harris" Album="Feel So Close" Genre="Progressive House" Kind="2" Size="58958744" TotalTime="333.92" DiscNumber="0" TrackNumber="1" Year="2011" AverageBpm="127.981013" DateModified="1970-01-01" DateAdded="2013-02-23" BitRate="1411" SampleRate="44100" Comments="Purchased at Beatport.com" PlayCount="15" LastPlayed="2013-07-26" Rating="0" Location="file://localhost/D:%5CMusique%5C2676245_Feel_So_Close_Extended_Mix.aiff" Tonality="Em">
      <TEMPO Inizio="0.16614966" Bpm="127.981013" Battito="1"/>
      <POSITION_MARK Type="4" Start="0.16614966" End="2.04142783" Name="Intro Loop 4" Num="-1"/>
      <POSITION_MARK Type="4" Start="0.16614966" End="2.04142783" Name="Intro Loop 4" Num="0"/>
      <POSITION_MARK Type="0" Start="277.707318" Name="Sortie" Num="-1"/>
      <POSITION_MARK Type="0" Start="277.707318" Name="Sortie" Num="1"/>
    </TRACK>

This became 4 locators instead of 2 when I imported it on the Mac. In addition, the names were lost
