What I did is actually make the "centre" paramaters wider in the mapping of the actual knob. This allows me to quickly turn the filter back to the centre "off" position without any worries about going into the other side of the filter. It works perfectly.

5 values for the center seems nice.

Ooooh good tip!

As in, enter a value of 5 in the center field (or whatever it is, can't remember from memory)?

If your range is 0 to 127 then the middle is probably 64
Now remove 2 on the left and 2 on the right : your new center is now 62 to 67.

Not the actual number 5, but giving yourself a 5 point centre space. Here is my values .Eg: Range begin 0X1F00 ; Range end 0X20FF. If you want to make it bigger decrease the begin number & increase the end range.

Wow !! Thanks Guys !! Those are great tips, I will try that 5 range thing.Although, no matter how fast you are, turning it back to mid point and switching it off won't sound EXACTLY the same, i think I will go this way.

Hey guys, I can't get it work. The MIDI controller I'm using is an AKAI MPD 24. I've been testing with different parameters and it doesn't change anything, the centre is always on values 63-64. As soon as i go down to 62 or up to 65, the filter is on. The only result I got was when I put the minimum range on the lowest value and the maximum range on the highest value then if value on the knob is 0 the filter is all the way down and if value on the knob is different than 0 then filter is on centre-neutral position. That's all the changes i could make, I of course tried the 5 wide center values, didn't work either...

I have currently mapped Quneo (sliders) to two different filter functions

SLIDER normally > normal filtering
SHIFT + SLIDER > directly to CENTER position (i.e. filter off)

I did this by extending the center range to go from zero to full for the shifted version. This makes for quick and precise filter kills!

This is great ! Thanks. That actually kinda solves the whole problem. BUT I decided I'd work with the Hi-Pass and Low-Pass effects from now on, instead of the mixer filters. It just works and sounds better for me even though it limits some of the possible combos and other possibilities, I decided to work this way. But I set up the rest as discopex said using knobs instead of faders and it works great. Thanks again !
