Steve Alexander wrote:"So I have tried adding a track, one at a time even, to the prepare tab, both via drag n drop and right clicking track, then selecting duplicate from the prepare tab and it maintains the order I added them in. I save the mediabase. Then I close Vfx and re open it. Now when selecting the same playlist, or even the prepare tab, the order is mixed up randomly.
I have tried creating a new playlist and right clicking tracks and adding them directly to the playlist.
I have also tried creating groups with the same result."

It shouldn't, will check.

Check your crossfader or video fader position

Haha the Cross fader ! No that was not the issue. I play the same video file (tried different types etc) and the output was far brighter from Vfx compared to the video plugin. It is like the brightness has been turned right down. If this is a bug it makes the program unusable.

This is not what you were saying in the first message, this is why I asked you to check the fader/crossfader position.

Now for comparison between Vfx or Cross Video, no one mentionned this 'darker' issue. I will try to do a side by side comparison.

That is insane. Such a basic, simple and vital feature needs to be put into to the next update as a priority. So many of us will run 10 sec 3d animated clips that need to loop automatically. To expect clients to go through their entire video collection and manually set and save loops is unacceptable

Are you really talking like that to every ones in your every day life ?

I think your issue will be fixed with a video sampler because this is mainly where short loops behave, not into a deck. (like audio)

Another basic vital feature that should have been in the first release.

This is your opinion, you can gently ask for a request and then we put it on the todo/wished list. As simple as that.

So at this point I can't use Vfx as it is horribly unstable and crashes whenever it feels like it; and I can't use the video plug in as the output is way too dark. I bought Vfx with the controller and then CrossDJ. What do you expect me to do now?

About this darkness issue, if you swap both screen does the Cross GUI still brighter than the video output ?

Moreover, from a developer point of view the only controls that can affect brightness in Cross are volume faders and Cross fader.
Then, please double check the video volume faders and crossfader are correctly positioned.

And please stop thinking what's vital for you must be vital for everyone. AFAIK, this ain't your own piece of software...

Best,

I dont get the problem at all, if i have a 10 sec Video running over a 5 min. Audio-file it'll be looped automatically ;)

The following is not intended to have an angry tone. It is simply an account of my experiences with your products. So don't get so argumentative.

When I pay $$$ and get nothing but a headache for my trouble, I tend to get frustrated. Like anyone. You want me to talk to you like a friend? I am your client. Don't make this personal. You have taken my money and more importantly, my time...which I charge a lot for. If I wasted my client's time and money, they would get their money back. That's how business works.

Mixvibes is unique because of its video possibilities. Not its audio. I have no trouble with my serato and traktor systems, but had glitchy crap with audio in Vfx from the get go. The audio side looks great don't get me wrong, it was just too buggy. It is clearly not computer issues as serato and traktor run flawlessly.

Repitition in tags means that vj's who are doing video shows for other musical performers can run small clips. It's a simple feature but vital! Why go backwards and not include it?

The fact is you were still selling Vfx controller packages to unsuspecting new clients. Vfx is unstable, there is no denying that. Read through these forums. This is what has really pissed me off.
I was stupid enough to get too excited by your tutorials on youtube and bought it anyway.

Instead of writing a final update for Vfx to solve the issues of your already loyal client base, along with new customers like myself, you leave it unusable for serious performers. The feature list and capabilities of Vfx is amazing. I would never need a single additional feature if all the current ones in Vfx were stable. Im sure there would be many who would agree; you should finish what you started!

I'm sure the video plug in will get better and better but it is a huge step backwards at this point, so it is not a real alternative. No titler, no contrast etc controls, no awesome effects like wireframe etc, no repitition in tags......

Don't expect everyone out there to play nice in these forums if they are not at all happy with the products they have bought from you.

I can run Serato on a 1,33GHz sempron dualcore with 128 mb VideoMemory, Vfx wont run in this.

Apples and oranges....

At this point what to add?
The devs work hard.
Support@mixvibes answers and more
Updates are scheduled on short range. (Free)
New features and stability are at the rendez vous.

So what? The decision to switch to Cross and to mobilise the devs only on that was a necessity to push forward the product.

The backward feeling you describe isn't shared by the team. Cross is our new rocket.
