Yeah, perhaps... but sometimes it's nice to just cheat and pull the key through software. Sure beats a chord chart and a piano. :D

I know not all DJ's use MIK, but it's becoming more common to see people using Key as a function of their mixing.

That being said, what is the chance that the tagging used in MIK could be matched within Cross?

It's 'something' at least... a start.

I'll see if I can get some information on the tagging they use and share.

You can read out the MIK key tag and save
it as Cross Key tag with MP3Tag.
If you upload some MIK tagged file i can make some MP3Tag script for easy use.

Actually, Ogg and Vorbis are two different things.

Ogg is a container format, Vorbis is an audio spec (or codec).

As for the names (thanks to wikipedia): :D
"Vorbis" is named after a Discworld character, Exquisitor Vorbis in Small Gods by Terry Pratchett. The Ogg format, however, is not named after Nanny Ogg, another Discworld character; the name is in fact derived from ogging, jargon that arose in the computer game Netrek.

Ogg Vorbis
MP3 Lame

I get your point and it is good to be clear about it, but lots of people use mp3 and ogg, self explaining that it is lame and vorbis being used ;) Nevertheless thanks for sharing this to the community!
Viele Grüße,
Cheers,
A plus,
Steve

The really funny thing? LAME actually says it's not an MP3 encoder...

In fact, that's what LAME stands for!
LAME Ain't a Mp3 Encoder. :)

I love details... ;) It annoys people sometimes, but the devil's in the details! :D
