Re: Track start cue points ( Resolved)

I've opened a folder with over 1500 videos without issue and my main library has about 120-130K tracks and when I opened that folder and the sub folders I didn't have an issue.

In other words, I think something's not quite right somewhere.

Admittedly, I'm running 8GB of ram on OS X... but still...

What's in the folder you're opening? Take a look at the directory and see if there are any international characters in the names or anything that might be corrupted. That would be my first guess.

Admittedly, i only installed Cross yesterday and haven't had time to import/analyze/scan the whole 'Music' folder on the drive (which is an External btw - NTFS format) It has approx 70k of songs in it at around 500gb in size so maybe that was the problem. This is the drive i normally use as a back up for my windows machine, i have one mirrored that i use in OSX so will try that and see what happens. I know from using VDJ in the past it would occaisonally hang for a few seconds but first time i've had a programme crash like that.

I have learnt the hard way that MacOSX doesn't like NTFS even if you had some 3rd party plugin for that (Mac3G-Fuse for isntance). If Cross tried for one time to write onto that NTFS drive into OSX then you have the choice beween : instant crash, infinite timesand/color wheel, hard drive scratching for hours.

So check that you don't write anything there like removing the 'save to tags' and don't put any path to there for collection/peak/record/sampler and so on.

No write to NTFS drive with OSX.

Yes, i assumed that was the reason. Just to be certain i reformatted my OSX external drive then reloaded my tracks on it and the back into Cross collection and it's been fine. No crashes since. Although it seems to be taking hours to analyze all the files, left it running 10 hours and it chomped through about 7 thousand or so.
